I`m wondering what some of you other guys are using for headers on your 5.0 Fox Mustang Stock and S/S cars. On my 85 M/S Mustang I am currently using a set of cheap 1 5/8" FlowTech long tubes. For the money they look pretty good, fit well, and clear the McLeod scattershield nicely, but I have to believe that there there must be some better options. I am looking at choices that are commonly available, a $1500-2000 pair of custom made headers is not in the budget. Anybody using the Hookers, Hedmans, BBK,Kooks..............?
Any comments on 1 1/2 vs 1 5/8" primary diameter, single dia vs stepped, regular collectors vs 421, vs merged? Thanks for any input.

Hi Rory,
I have Hedman 1 5/8" they have removable collectors. The collectors are 1 5/8 X 2 3/4" These were trick in their day, I am sure something is much better now. They fit around my scattershield well also. Sean

I have Hooker supercomp 6222 1 5/8 on my car. They are two piece drivers side, three piece passenger side. Cleared the AOD when I had it in my car, so I figure they would clear a lakewood bellhousing. had them on the car a couple years, then sent them to be coated. Been on car since 1999. Coated in 2004 I think.

Cheap azz Flow Tech 1 5/8" out of the Summit catalog in my '94. Fit like a glove with the C4, too tight with the AODE.

I got the Hedmans, no problem with the bellhousing, bought some Bassani 1 5/8 x 1 3/4 step with a 3 inch spike collector off Ebay for $350.00, 4 single tubes on each with slip/bolt on collector, might be the ticket, lots of fox/5.0 headers out there.

Rory mine are a set of pacestters with merge collectors but I am also an auto dont know how they would fit with a shield. Headers are cheap in the 200 range from summit collectors cost more then the headers. See you at Mission when we head back north.
