So take it out of the trunk! I'm NOT talking about "lightweight" seats! I'm talking about allowing safer seats that look stock! What is not smart about that? If some of you had seen some of the older stock seats fold up after a crash as I have you would not hesitate to approve of this! Jim

Seats; Stock appearing and weighing equal or greater than original seat.
Sounds like pistons, pushrods, etc doesn't it?

Kirkey seats? No.
Stock appearing safer seats? Yes.

And will these seats need to be replaced every 2 years or re-cert. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. In no way am I against the interest of safety but is this not another gate being opened! Careful what you ask for. Re-engineering what we have may be best. If tech has the manpower and time to remove upholstery and create a blueprint of every seat so be it. Doug

Neither SFI or FIA seats have a 2-year rule.

I think if driver weight was changed to 270 from 170-this might not be much of an issure with everyone
