Yesteryear,,,,,,,
Hands down,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the 1961 Plymouth,,, It was so ugly, you would have to tie a 'pork chop' to the tire, just to get a dog to 'pee' on it..... Today,,,,,,,,the 2012 Fiat,,,,,,,,,looks like a bug waiting to get squashed... Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 10-28-2011 at 12:59 PM. |

Hey Now! Easy , that '61 was my High School freshman year car ,with a 361 2x4 in it.
faster than most of the Tri5 Chevies too, and you could burn those old Bucrons all the way across the parking lot! Hands down the Aztec has to be the ugliest modern era car.

I think almost all the new cars make Virgil Exner's designs (early 1960s Chrysler products) look good by comparison. Nissan seems to lead the ugly contest with the Leaf, Cube and Juke (contraction of Joke and Puke), followed by the Toyoda Prius (Pious with an "r" inserted in and the "o" removed), Audi has seemed to taking a liking to the overly HUGE grill that Chrysler brought back with the 300M but Audi took it to the extremes.
It seems like there are people that will buy anything new no matter how strange it looks. Maybe Chrysler should dig out the old Exner stuff and give it a modern interpretation and they might have a hit?

I'm gonna get Billy to find this option package in the book so I can build one for Stock to run against the Mustangs.
I dont care how ugly it is.

It has the optional fresh air mask that drops down from the headliner.

Classic good news/bad news scenario: You're a pre-teen car nut and your dad finally buys his first new car in your lifetime. Bad news: It's a stripped 62 Dodge Dart four door.
I swear it warped me so bad that I actually bought a 59 Nash Metropolitan for my first car a couple of years later. A picture of our driveway would have no doubt been on the internet had it existed back then. So there's two cars that should be high on the list. |

When we'd go up there for a weekend I was always amazed at how many Studies were running around. One of my roomates had an early Hawk which I thought was really cool. I remember the dash, with its aircraft-looking gauges and all the cool toggle switches. Another friend had a Lark, and taught me to check on the trunk lid for the "VI" or "VIII" emblems. While they made some legitimate grocery getters, I don't think Studebaker gets the respect they deserve. No, they never engineered a small block Chevy or Ford, but they had some pretty creative stuff for the time. |
