Not really legal since essentially the center section is a "wet sump" design for the R&P and your proposal would be converting it to a dry sump. You might get by however with a heater like Glidden and some of the Pro Stocks used to run. Plug it in between runs and it heats and thins the oil. But with today's ultra light weight lubricants, I'm not sure you'd see a real gain.

I have run 30wt in the rear and tranny on a run or two when I needed "everything I could get at any cost". Of course it all came apart after the race for inspection.
