Default SS/GT trans question

When building a car for ss/gt does the number of foward gears in trans (stick shift) go with the engine combo or the car its installed in ? thanks Rob

Only if you have a FoMoCo or Mopar does it go with the engine.

GM gets anything they want.

Now, Now we know that is not true... There are some mustangs with 5 speeds that should only have 4 gears.......LOL.....

Pretty sure it goes with the engine combo, IHRA rulebook states same # of forward speeds as per engine combo. No mention in Nhra rule book, but I have an older east coast version....Thanx Trevor p.s. we run a 5 speed but don't shift to 5th
