Bernie,

My guess is that the current year model will only be allowed a 2 speed if that's all that was available. However, if they want to add a few gears all they will do is change it however they see fit for next years model!

The only T/F that will bolt to a V10 is the 89-91 diesel which was a 727 with a bigger bell for the very large converter in the diesel. To my knowledge there is one in America and it is Doc Fudge's Viper which is sitting in my shop. I also have a used piece from an old diesel. I ran it in my V10 truck in the 90.s. The way I understand it, the pg is the only thing you can run in the V10 cars. The T/F would probably be worth a lot more, but they have not made that trans in years, and Mopar needed 70 of them, hence the TCI PG. LIke the other drag packs, the 8 3/4 (not 8 4/4) that is used is a Moser 9' housing that is machined off and a plate with a Mopar 8 3/4 bolt pattern on it. I think you can run any 8 3/4 housing or the Moser in the DP's, but you can't use the Moser in other Mopars. It's approved in that car only, like the 9" in the V10 powered cars. The Fords have a PG also. Now for next years DP with the 392 Blower, I don't know what they will have, but the 392 accepts either a 904 or 727 trans. At least that is what I hear, but you never know.

Interesting. Jeff always has the scoop.
So, the Viper block has a Chevy bolt pattern?

No worries, they'll come up with a factory approved adaptor plate, RIGHT !!!!!!!!

Kinda think they missed the ball on this though, would have thought that somehow they could have done at least a 3 speed cause they're gonna need 'em a few years down the road/track/AHFS/enhancement,whatever, etc.

I agree, I would like to have seen something else. I know what to do with a T/F, but this glide is a new animal, although it seems simple, I mean 1-2. Even I understand that.

Is the powerflite the one that required you to use the clutch to take off but not shift? There was a mopar trans like that before the clutchflite came about. Seems like early 50s.

No, my parents had one in a '56 Plymouth and a '60 model. It was a regular 2 speed automatic trans.
