there is a highly regarded reman, and high performance head vendor on ebay that is selling 14022601 305 heads and they say the intakes are 1.94.Can you safely cut the seats out this big?Are these pretty decent castings,or the thin ones.Im interested in these heads for a street car. thanks.

Lyn,
I gave away two sets of 601 heads and neither were 1.94 intake valves. 1.84 on both sets. They are a lightweight casting. |

601 casting was only used on 305 ho stick cars and light trucks. Car heads were 1.84 intake, trucks were 1.72. Yes you can open up the seat (done it) for a 1.94 (have to blend back the chamber wall). Nice, quick way to get compression in a dished piston 350. They start out with 50cc chambers (like a 267 head).
