Thanks, to Coastal Plaines Group.
Troy Humphrey, Ronnie Humphrey, Doyle Evans and all who helped out with the reunion at Troy Humphrey's place in Jacksonville NC. There were racers there from all over but probably 50% of them were over 65 years old. I wish we had counted up National Event wins in the room it would scare you.
If your a class racer from the past put this event on your calander next year the same weekend. Herb McCandless Jr |

I got a kick out of the car you and your dad drove up in. I meant to ask you what year was that bad boy. Your dad, Roy Hill, and Kenny Nowling did an awesome job of "entertaining" everyone. It was the first time I had ever talked to your dad. He was very "down to earth" . Please tell him thanks for coming. Doyle |

Re: Thanks, to Coastal Plaines Group.
You mean the 1961 Chrysler 300 with a 5.7 Hemi and a Carburator. That is a very nice car that he redid a few years ago. The resto people hate it because he took the 413-2x4 out of a car with a production with less than 300, but he has become a 5.7 conversion guru and has over 15,000 miles on the car in 18 months. Its been in over 20 states so far and drives like a dream.

Re: Thanks, to Coastal Plaines Group.
I second the thanks to Troy, Ronnie, Doyle for a great gathering...I wonder how many national records , final rounds, and divisional were represented there?
Thanks Ronnie for your encourageing opening remarks, I believe many of the racers in attendance had already used your guidelines for their own life path...Now if somehow we could encourage you to make a scrapbook of all the newspaper clippings you had on display from the 60-70 at Kinston and Coastal plains to sell next year I am sure many of us would pay you for your trouble and cost to prepare. Just a suggestion Regards, Ebern Watson, Super Rooster |
