Trying to decide which way to go with this 6cyl. to run IHRA/NHRA stock class. Motor is a 250 and is original. Should I change crank and rods and run it as a 230? What type of pistons should I use? Header? Converter? Gear? Help me out with any advice you might have, I like to listen. Thanks in advance.

Not trying to bust up the 6cyl combo because im sure it will run great but why not build a IHRA crate motor? Probably spend half the money and go just as far under the index and faster ET's. Even with a straight 6 your going to have to build a good rear/trans/converter.
Please everyone...im not bashing a 6cyl combo so dont send me PM's about how the Straight Six Mafia is coming for me ![]() Dave T you stay out of this!!! HAHAHAHA

Thought about the Crate motor to start with. Would like to be able to run NHRA/IHRA both if I can. Got the 6 cyl. and like the idea of being chased with the slower e.t., gives me a chance to strengthen my finish line skills. Anybody got any combinations or parts for sale that would help me with this build? I know the trans./ converter and rear are going to be expensive, but thats fine. Not trying to set world records with the 6 cyl. just want to get some seat time at the Divisonal / National events.
Thanks Anthony Walton Walton Racing Promotions www.coastalplainsraceway.com |

Definitely run the 230. It'll make V/SA which is a 6 cyl class, which would be a good place to hide from heads up runs.
Not a great combo though. It can be made to run under the index without a great deal of expense. There's one "weird " guy here that can help you a lot. He'll show up soon!
