For all of you that want to eliminate timers, how do you propose we slow our cars down then? Run the stop the entire length of the track or use a high gear stop? Sounds like a huge step backwards to me.

I will admit that I agree the class is terrible for the spectators. But I honestly don't care. Our classes support themselves. We pay for everything with our entry fees. I race for me, not for the spectators (all 10 of them). I will also admit that I enjoyed racing T/S much more than the super classes. But we soon found out that after the class was contested for a few years it got fast enough that it took more money than I was willing to spend and more crew help than I had available. It was very fun going fast and having spectators interested in your class. But that all comes with a price. So far I have not heard any ideas on changes that I think will make any difference on spectators. Unless we do a 5' wheel stand or run in the 6's, most people wont care to watch us.

Just my opinion.

I can go 170 in S/G and I would still like to see throttle stops gone. Why spend $25000 on a motor when you can run 9.90 with a sub $10000 motor. Same pay out less expense, makes sense to me.

I do see your point. But for those of us that already have the equipment to go 170 what are we supposed to do with it? Sell it for .50 on the dollar and by a smaller motor? I also think there are a number of racers (myself included) that like to go fast and don't want to slow down. I don't think it is near as exciting to go 140 as it is to go 170+. If I wanted to go slow I would be racing stock.

Ok, maybe that wasn't fair after further review. But I think you all know what I was trying to say. I don't mean anything against stock, it's a fine class it's just not for me. My point was that I don't have any interest in racing a car that goes 140-145mph or less, which is what you would have if your car only ran 9.90 flat out.

I respect your opinion, but to me , going 140 in my super stocker or 170 in my super gas car dosent feel much different after about the third run of the year. I guess this is unfortunate for me! lol

I dont understand the bitchin about the tree.
My old car at 2750# and a 30year old 468 still had .020 to .030 in the box on a .370 tree.
They put all those holes in the 4 link and knobs on the shocks fo a reason ya know!
I have to run as much as .080 in the box at the MASGA races on a true .4 tree..and let me tell you it sucks when you have that much in ,when you miss the tree, you REALLY miss the tree!
