Here are some of the FWD cars I've raced over the years

HF/SA '85 Sunbird, owned by Billy Nees. Quickest HF/SA car ever. NHRA record holder 2002-2004, 17.30 seconds. IHRA Record Holder 2004-2006, 17.71 seconds. 1.8 liter 110 cid 4 cylinder, 84/85 hp. NHRA obsoleted this car with a single rule change.

Another Billy Nees owned car, AF/S (now BF/S) 1.8 liter turbocharged car, 150/150 hp. Built to run NHRA after NHRA killed the silver 'Bird. 14.11 best

The car I bought in 2006, ex-Tom Kasch '92 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo. 3.8 liter 231 cid 170/170 for DF/S and FF/SA. 14.93 best, 100 pounds heavy. Raced it a few times, then quit.

They wouldn't let me run the Hemi Shootout at the '06 Dutch, but I showed them.

I wondered if anyone had ever run that combo. Neat car...

I haven't completely made up my mind but I'm probably going to quit. After nhra's new afhs it won't be fun anymore.
Anyone want to buy a car that can get whacked half a second in good air?

Oh come on Art......At least you can control your own index for the most part. Just eat more and short shift it. At least your not in AA, A, or B stock with a 1970/71 Hemi Challenger with the new stuff..

Terry I built a car to race it. I got rid of a car that could run 2 seconds under while being 450 pounds heavy.
The point is it's not fun to worry about the finish line every time you go down the track.
As far as the older cars go now it's just a bracket race plain and simple. They punish skill and engineering.
Now the new cars will probably be flipping coins to see which one wins. And the old style cars won't have a prayer. But the crybabies should be proud.

Art I couldn't sgree more. It's just not fun to be worried about getting HP everytime you go down the track. Give me a 6 tenths under car and run it like you stole it.

Steve with this afhs nhra has the tools to convert all sportsman to brackets.
No reason to spend money, no reason to work hard. And most of all no reason to tear anyone down. Because going that slow they "must" all be legal.

So put the car in DF/S, and you can work on it to your heart's content... welcome aboard!
