Default Question for Stock / Super Stock engine builders?

I am just curious on something, and it may be a totally stupid question. If so, just tell me...I have thick skin.

On engines equipped with either a q-jet or a thermoquad, I know the primaries are considerably smaller than the secondaries and fuel distribution to all eight cylinders can be aggrivating I assume. My question is, in tuning, do you ever use different heat range plugs in some cylinders ? As in, an autolite AR3934 in some cylinders and maybe a AR3933 in others ? I may be off in left field, but I'm just curious.

Default Re: Question for Stock / Super Stock engine builders?

My experience with this has been with the circle track guys. Mostly ARCA,at the super speedways, if you took your plugs to be read by the Champion rep at the track, it was not unusual for him to recommend a hotter or colder plug for one or two cylinders. Most times it was a colder plug to avoid detonation.
I don't know how it can hurt for drag racing. Especially when it comes to detonation.
