You're missing the point. This is supposed to be a points race for the D7 sportsman racers, so give less to the invited guests and not take away from the D7 racers.

Brett,
You're missing the point too. The track needs these deals to help the bottom line. Racing is not a charity and if the track can't make money how many racetracks will be left. Think about the overhead at that place. Chip |

Just like the "Sleds" at the Dutch this year. Why fight it. It's all turning into a circus anyway. The class car's don't count for anything anymore. The stock and S/S car's are to much trouble for NHRA to keep around and their usefulness has run it's course. It's all about a circus show and the bottom line.

Don't know about this year, but when I was there last year there was nobody in the stands to watch them. Who is the show for?

Ed,
I agree. I went to Atlanta this year and nobody was there to watch the: Leakers,Remote control cars,or the Classy racers. I'll bet someone told them if they added Nitro Harleys they would pack the place.LOL Chip |

Everyone should face the fact that we share the stage, not own it. Granted, it is about the show and NHRA will do things to enhance the show, even penalize the Pro cars if needed. Good example being today's annoucements on oildowns...
http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...18628#indextop Like it not, NHRA and their tracks are going to keep trying things to improve the show and their gate. NHRA Unleashed is the perfect example of that and you can tell they are targeting the younger generation. The demographic of those who either race class or watch every class run down the track possible is a shrinking group indeed (of course we don't quite understand why everyone doesn't love it as much as we do). Don't think any business can survive that relies solely on current class car counts so we share the stage and do everything we can to mentor and encourage any youngster to follow our footsteps.

I don't know about the circus bit, but show me a business or a sport or any organization that doesn't pay attention to the balance between revenues and costs and I'll show you a business or a sport or an organization that won't be around soon!
