Check out all the SST cars running under 135, many do not have diapers...for the time being 135 is the break point for license, chassis cert, diapers, gloves, etc etc....135 is where you have to have a legal SG car (plus the weight of course) to run SST.

Does fuel pump cutoff have to be at Back near cell or inside the car? Sorry to sound stupid but I don't have a rulebook and can't download until I get a membership # Chip |

If you have a fuel cell, make sure it has a ground strap.

Gary,
Thanks for the info. That is what I thought. I,m officially a card carrying member of the NHRA again. I've already figured out not to call Cali for anything. LOL Chip |

I think I disagree on 2 of 3:
Flywheel shield is required at 9.99, not 10.99. Trans shield/blanket is required at 10.99 and for S/ST. So a flywheel shield is only required if you go 135. Only if the car is "required by the rules" to have a cage is a window net required. If it goes under 135 and has a stock firewall and floor pan, you can have a cage without a net. If not, then yes a cage (and therefore net) is required at 10.99 and for S/ST. It's a good idea to have the more equipment, the better. And on your first trip thru NHRA tech, no guarantee you won't get an inspector who doesn't know the nuances and says "I am the rulebook!" and gives you trouble. You don't want to have that argument, even if you win on Monday, you lose on that weekend. |
