I ran into this same problem on my 67 modified car. You will need a 2 1/4" backspace, I have centerlines on mine and the first set I bought were 1 3/4" and they rubbed the fender lip. Returned and got the same wheel in a 2 5/16" and they fit well. I am going thru this again right now as I plan on running a nostalgia race and need a old school type wheel and can not find anything with enough backspace. I have a old set of super tricks that were on my 69 nova but they won't work on the camaro. My car also has MW disc brakes which must shove the wheel out some over stock drums. Hope this helps.

I have the Monocoque wheels on my car with a 21/4 back spacing. You can still get this wheel from Boyd now. They bought out Monocoque. They really help with the clearance. I also reworked my lower a arm to move the bottom ball joint forward to give a little more clearance. A good set of double adjustable shocks set tight on the compression will eliminate the tire scrubbing the inner fenderwell. I have Santhuff's on my car.
