For those of you who remember Island Porting in Broad Channel, my dad scanned a decal he had sitting in his shop, He ported heads there from about 1969 -1973. Lots of street racers had work done there. Thanks for the help, I was able to upload it!

Try opening the file in Microsoft Paint (if you're on Windows, of course) (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint). Once the file is open, choose "Save As" from the File menu. In the little Save window that pops up, choose where to save the photo in its new format and from the "Save As Type" drop-down list, choose JPEG, then click Save.

Hope this helps.

Yes, many stories, he said he sat me in a front engine dragster Pete had in the shop (I had to be about 4-5 yrs old) I dont remember it and no pics were taken. He remembers the Dart in the shop that they raced on the street. He has some cool original eliminator decals from NY National, and I think even an AHRA decal. Lots of cool history.

How quick was the Dart? We never took the 64 plymouth to the track. So I really didn't know what it would run but I figured high tens for the plymouth.

Hey artie, that is what makes a good street racer -lol. We took the dart to e-town 1 time during the week for a test n tune-----no time of course. What a circus it turned out to be if you know what i mean. It certainly was not ready for bracket racing. Different track surface than the conduit. An 11teen ---10.82----10.96. So when you figured the car for 11.0's you were right there. Do names like harvey and howie and al sound familiar ? Looking back ,it probably was one of the worst decisions as we found out--- there are no secrets at the track. No matter what we did the time leaked out very fast. OH WELL !

Believe it or not that number was not from inside info, it was from who you beat and by how much etc.
The only street race car we took the track was the 71 Charger with the Hemi in it. We put SS/DA on the window fillede out the time card with a Virginia address made one run 10.51 @ 128. Loaded it up and went home. Nobody looked to see it there was a roll bar in it or even thought about it. Froggies car was a couple of hundered pounds heavier than the Charger though.
I remember Harvey and Howie I think Howie was the driver?

Art, Like I said , info is vital. The more runs you make and against who you race all adds up. Harvey drove the car , Howie was the mouthpiece and Al stuttered a lot and a good street racer gets this information. AND WHAT HAPPENS IN STATEN ISLAND STAYS IN STATEN ISLAND ! LOL . Will you be coming up for Big E-Town race this year ? Shame about BKLYN HEAVY . Met Rufus once and he and his entourage ---nothing but class. --------Do you remember a 66-67 red Chevelle. Car was immaculate. BB of course. Street registered and driven to the Bow Wow. The car flat out FLEW ! ------John
