Default Re: C-11 Cost?

Last week I dynoed c-11 vs. Sunoco Purple. C11 was 3 hp better on average. A drum of Sunoco is $325 and C11 is about $12 per gallon. About twice the price. My air fuel mixture was a little richer with the sunoco so maybe if I leaned it out a little it would have been as good as c-11.

I just paid $574, all fees included for a 54 gallon drum.

Well that is at least $100 less than jobber cost here. I guess I'm getting the shaft. Pacific raceways has sunoco at the pump but I'm not sure what they have for options. I guess I'll be taking an empty drum with me next time I head down there.

P.S Hey Sean I figured out how to use the quote finally. Now I'm as cool as you.......

Bob , all I did was swap gas. I remember when I started using c-11 I richened up my carb. I really think if I had taken the time to lean my carb up just a little there would probably of been little or no difference. This is a motor that is about 10.5 to 1.

Thumbs up Re: C-11 Cost?

Unless you're on the cutting edge and trying to set a record or something of that nature, why spend double the money on C-11 when a $5.00 shoe polish takes up the slack?
I know that some of you guys are going to say that you need all the power you can get when it comes to class racing. My arguement is that NHRA has settled most classes by ignoring the correct factoring of car and engine combinations and gas wouldn't help you.

Try Corrigan Oil in Michigan. I know Bazell fuels is a distributor also.

Sunoco's web site for race gas www.racegas.com
