Congratulations Mike. I went up to watch qualifying Saturday and was very surprised by the low car count. I think I watched 1st round of SS and saw 8 cars go down the track. Stock in 2nd round had about 25. It was a gorgeous day other than the wicked cross wind coming across the track.

First of all Congrad's to Mike on his win !!!

But really only 8 cars Sat and 7 cars Sunday???
come on guys, everybody needs to be supporting this, i wont blame IHRA one bit if they finally say enough and make SS and stock a combo.

Joe, you can't lay all the blame at the racers feet. IHRA has moved to venues not heavily populated by it's core racers, I don't know the stat's but I'm pretty sure most of their regulars would be pulling 12-14 hours to attend. Years ago that would not be unheard of however the towing expense is higher now, also I'm sure some racers are not quite sold on their new Nitro jam deal, just a guess. For me at least, due to losing tracks and races I'll probably only race 1 race with them this year if that. I really like racing IHRA but they really only have Martin left that is a nice facility and close, the rest of the Div. tracks are less than appealing. Hope to see you all soon. Joe

I think we hi jacked Mike's congrad's page, sorry,

Joe you are right, but I'm seeing this with all the IHRA events, even Farmington wasn't a killer car count, but weather was the big blame there. I just hate to see low car counts

Once again Great win Mike as Mike is a good racer and nice to see him win one

Nitro Joe,

The problem with turnout at the IHRA events is a paltry payout and almost no contingency money. I just got home from the Crandall race, got to the semi in Stock, and didn't even get my entry fee back, got $120 for a semi final finish and payed $135 entry fee. Kind of makes a guy ashamed to call himself a drag racer IMO.

Good job on the Semi Jim. Sucks about the payout though.

By the way I bought a 1.76 today on ebay, so hopefully it will be in later in the week.
