I want to move the battery on my 67 firebird stocker in front of the driver side front fender, and put my cool can in the place where the battery is from the factory - passenger side front fender. Will move the battery tray, etc to driver side, will mount the same etc....This makes a much cleaner install for the cool can and fuel regulator to the carb.
Is this legal? I really do not see any "performance" advantage here, but it is moving the battery from the stock location... Anyone done this? Tech officials, what do you think? Where are some of you mounting your cool cans, on early Camaro and Firebirds? Thanks all Ken Last edited by Kegracing; 02-20-2010 at 10:05 PM. Reason: spelling |

Pontiac V-8 starters are on the Drivers side of the engine. and the batteries tended to be on the Drivers side close to the starter. Chevys were on the Passenger side.

You may have solved my problem... my car is an origional Sprint OHC 6 car... and battery is/was on passenger side. If v-8 car is on driver side, then problem solved... I am legal!
Pontiac guru's - help here. Can someone with an early Firebird confirm this please! Thanks guys. Ken |

First generation Firebirds had the battery mounted on the passenger side regardless of engine size.
