Agreed......

Its not like Stock Elim is heads up anyway......BUT , PERHAPS , if the cars are moved into their own class it would/could be....or something of the like.

Youre right I will have NO joy in beating 40 yr old iron if its another A or AA car in a heads up run, Im sure they will...and there are some that will be able to that have "laid low" I think.... UNLESS its a driver win. Then, well....the car is a moot point.

A seperate question unrelated, what is a good .4 pro tree RT ? I mean good/fair average ? (unrelated curiousity) ? Like as in what would "acceptable" consistency be for that to be competitive ? Im too tired to go get my "Stats" and well.....since I keep forgetting to mail Joe Jackson the check on my desk......I have decided not to allow myself to read them until its mailed

Watching a New Blown Mustang or DP Challenger run and hide from a 40+ year old Muscle car is not my idea of fair competetion. All it shows is that the HP ratings are bogus.....

A good RT on any tree is one that wins the round.....no matter what it is.......but if you are not capable of going .00 then your not competitive at most races.......Last time I won a S/C Lucas oil race I went .007-.002 and .013 first 3 rounds and they were all close......

I lost a race with a .010 Rt and ran dead on with a 3 in S/C...it was a .0006 MOV.........to the other lane........

All the S/ classes are "killer"......

I was not suggesting that you have to run heads up with these new cars. Just pointing out that they are improperly factored HP wise and they need to move up. Since there are no more classes up, they need to create them.....and move these cars up where they belong....

Lol..Ill buy that......

Off topic curiosity, I think the VRT on the car was pretty slow, I wonder why some of the higher classes are slower in avg RT its certainly not the lack of quality drivers, so its either intentional setup or vrt.

I had not driven against a .4 pro tree and all my slips (8, less 1 were consistent) the old mans were too , but well.... a bit faster as always...some parents bitch about their kids playing video games, from the 70's up I bitched about my dad playing them Hes still the "Pinball Wizard" sick on a set of flippers.....lol.....I think thats where my son mr .008, I still cant figure out how a kid hits .008 so often, it has to be the setup, well see this year....but last year "another 008" was the announcer call when he ran... as we call him gets it....It must have skipped a generation ...

I didnt see the last part, I knew you werent suggesting that, I was just "thinking" out loud....I understood you....

Jerry, I saw the purple 72 I thought, **** they stole my car....lol....

At least I see someone else loves the sadmouths.

But yall aint right up there in minnesota, I think it has to do with frontal lobe frostbite......11 second trucks sheesh....whats next 8 second Challengers.....I mean really.

Ive got some dyno info for you come friday evening give me a call then, kinda like the Jaws movie.....

"I got a taxidermy man back home gonna have a heart attack when he sees what I brung him"

Hows your DP build going ?

OH OH OH, Call me found out something about rear crossmembers on these, NOT Kosher, not with the NHRA, not with Bruce, NOT Kosher......

Ours dosent of course, but we were "considering" one for our 2nd car....but I figgered I better check like on Coughlins car what I see and well what I "Think" im seeing, and.....give me a call....

You too Mack....that was what I forgot to tell you today since youre to the Chassis shop......

Mike at MPRs suspension is what was approved, there is some variance but in talking with the NHRA, not much....not a whole lot of room for "creative liscense" as it were.....I was gonna try too though for #2

Cheers

Chris

.4 pro tree would be be nice, then it would just be see light and react.... but you aren't going to see it in Stock and Super Stock... you are going to have to wait on the full .5 tree like everyone else......different tracks and different timing systems....you can search the site for the sage like advice from the guys who just seem to always go deep into the race. Its all about the package time....

You might get lucky and the vehicle RT plus the driver RT is in the narrow window .00-.03(this is on the outside)....but you should be realistic with your expectations...chasis setup, leave rpms, air pressure, and tire sizes all need to be right, and take a lot of reps to dial in. Its easy with a rocket ship FI car to go red.

Its why everyone has a log book!

The coveted secret squirrel patch may be out of reach for the moment. But I am sure all will enjoy the show in CA.

Yep, I use a computer pretty much for everything, the cool part is I can link my datalogs to the run info and run reports on it Im gonna call em TPS reports, like in "Office Space"

Damm it feels good to be a Ganster......

I cant promise much of a show, other than us just showing up by the skin of our teeth and our car being actually wrapped in the pits, one of our sponsors is a wrap company and well......the only chance they will have is in the pits....should be interesting to see.

BUT I dont have my Golf Cart, and I didnt get a chance to run over to PA to pick up my NEW Vintage bike.....(well 100 and something original miles not bad for a 72) And no grill, and no soda fountain......Im bummed about that, but I may wallpaper my trailler in the pits if I can get my hands on enough vintage HotRod and CarCraft mags to cut up. Also may lay tile in it while Im out there.......thats after I rebuild our generator....ive got all the parts in the Pacifica, but wont have time to do it till were trackside.

I do have our shirts being delivered out there, and I got my new timing chain in so, I may do that trackside, but Ive got to pull the motor to do it...yes really on these motors with the oil pump and pickup the way it is....(and secret squirrel patches) Im saving the cars original namesake I had picked and the appropriate logo for the 8's .......

Dead Mans Hand (or Aces and Eights) for a name, my favorite poker hand, but if I rename the car then I need to get a custom gold pinkie ring made with the Ace and 8 on it.....I aleady had it speced at a Jewler so.....the A8 Patch will be my reward (Im only half serious its up to you to figure out what part Im serious about and what part Im joking about, the pinkie ring...thats serious)

This is of course all dependent on me not turning the whole engine to a pile of aluminum and iron shavings that I can then give to my kids to grind up and make thermite with......

Well be the ones with the 180k mile rusty Dodge truck and dull trailer Ive had for 2 or 3 years and never finished taking the sticker off of, it still reads "Scotty Racing Team OvertheRoad Trucking" But since I pulled some of the letters off now it reads "Sco Rac Ove ucking" Who knows what the hell they think that means in California land, if I get winks from large Hairy guys and smootches Ill have an idea why........

Kinda like the last roadtrip we took in 2 vans, I put a sign on my buddys van that said "Ohio Gay and Lesbian Youth Evangalists" he got a strange combination of Angry drivers , but an overwhelming and frigthening majority of winks and kisses from very large scarry truck drivers. He wasnt real happy when he saw what I had printed up and stuck to his van........(but still has it hanging in his garage)

Anyone know where I can get a stuffed, remote controlled weasel in short notice ?

Cheers

Chris
