Why are there some things noticably absent in as much as cars go from the major manufactuerers for years they should have something, other cars but not these.
Example Captive Imports, some Dodge MITS, Like Colts etc are IN But things like Stealth are missing. Conquest is in though .... Some oddities like the Cosworth Vega is listed, but the Chrysler TC is missing even thought over 7000 were built. Other like Oldsmobile only list the Alero for the last several years ? No Aurora. Were these ommisions on the part of the manufactuer ? Or by way of the NHRA ? Just curious if anyone knows why certain models for certain years come to be omitted, in most cases what Im looking for are High power combos, many turbo.....is there a reason these are absent ? Or did the manufactuerers just drop the ball. Any twin turbo cars in the guide anyone is aware of ? Cheers Chris |

What about the older stuff like the TC , will Chrysler still submit that ? They made the one with the Cosworth head and its a screamer. Also on the "Cheap" you can pick one up under 5k if you find it right.
And what about in the case of divisions that are no longer operating like Oldsmobile ? Or divisions that havent even submitted something in 18 years+ (Caddy) It seems suprising, there are some good modern combos that just arent there. And with the cost of the old iton and the scarcity it would seem that people would be trying to grab some of the hot new iron. Like Olds...why the hell is only the Alero listed......thats just odd... What happens if the division is "POOF" ? Cheers |

Ed is right. The manufacturer fills out a form with the vehicle data and submits it to NHRA. Then NHRA approves (or not) and inserts it into the guide. However, if no one at the manufacturer is interested in drag racing, then there is no one to send in the data. In this case, it generally takes a racer contacting the manufacturer to get the ball moving.
As for defunct manufacturers, I guess you'd first have to find someone at the parent company to access the data, then I guess NHRA would have to decide what to do. Evan
