I have an 438 inch Dart Buick Head Engine with a powerglide. The car weighs 3000 lbs. I am new to this type of engine I was wondering do anyone have any suggestions on what gear ratio i should run i have a 9 inch ford.

it depends on tire rollout,rpm, and such. just guessing a 6.00 would be fine.

1/4 mile or 1/8 mile? How many rpm do you want to be turning at the end? How tall are the rear tires?
