The though just came to me, since I no longer have a park, this will require some new discipline when running the engine while not seated in the car. [adjusting timing, adjusting carbs, etc]
And of course, I have no park brake system because it is a race car. So, how do you manual trans racers address this "non-park" issue? Thanks

Someone is in the car when we do that. We also carry a wheel chock to put behind a tire when it is in the pits unattended. Just in case.

Carry a floor jack and a set of jack stands and place the rear
axel up off the ground when your working on the car. Plus a wheel choc or two for safety.

If you run NHRA, General Regulations # 9.14 states that a driver be seated in the car in the normal position anytime the vehicle is running. As for a park brake, I use a block of wood if I think the car will roll or leave it in gear.
