manual trans racers, what do you do about not having a "park"?

The though just came to me, since I no longer have a park, this will require some new discipline when running the engine while not seated in the car. [adjusting timing, adjusting carbs, etc]

And of course, I have no park brake system because it is a race car. So, how do you manual trans racers address this "non-park" issue?
