Widest Tire for 66 Impala?

Do you think if I went with a 28" tall I could fit wider? Maybe a 28x11? I did measure the wheel well width at 13.5" inches and I run an adjustable panhard bar to center the rear.

Scott, I also run a 68 Impala in I/S (stick) What combination engine do you run? Just curious.
I run a 396/325 at 4095 lbs

I also run Hoosier 30.0'' x 9.0'' on 8" rims, same issues though. I am not too sure centering the rear would help much, possibly with the right amount of backspace and completely folding up the wheel opening lip you might be able to fit 11's?
