Got an 84 LTD Wagon wanna put in a 460 and keep stock hood any suggestions? I have seen Mustangs done but how in the world do you do it?

Should be no problem gettin it to clear the hoodline with spacers that big. On my 87 Turbo Coupe 460 I used a Ford Van C-6 transmission rubber mount to lower the rear of the trans to help with the crank angle when I lowered the engine. You can also order steering rack offset bushings to lower the steering rack a bit more. Of course custom engine mounts will get you a bit more as well. I had to use a solid Flaming River steering shaft to get more exhaust clearance because the engine sits lower. Hope this helps. ![]() Alan |
