Default Question for Rory Mcneil

I was wondering if you could tell me about the 428 combo in your Fairmont. Especially what heads do you run and what has been done to them, do you know what size the intake runner is and what do they flow.

This is not his STOCKER it is his bracket car, so no big secrets to hide so asking here is no big deal.

Rory also hangs out on Mustangsandmore and has talked about details of this combo before i was just interested in more especially the heads. Doesn't seem like he hangs out on that board as much as he use to so that is why i figured i would ask him here.

Cool Re: Question for Rory Mcneil

Think about it Steve,,,its a FAIRMONT,,with a 428! How many of those came from the factory? Yeah,,I know. Actually I've seen Rory's car and its a cool piece. It also has a manual gearbox! Rear bumper launches,,,a 1.29 sixty ft. at Bremerton,, and a heavy hitter in the B.C Supershifters Assoc. Rory took home the gold last year at out annual stick shift event. Rory does have a Stock Eliminator car however,,a 5.0 5spd. Mustang that lurks around in M and N/S.

Coupe, the 428 in my Fairmont is pretty basic, .030" 428 Tbird block, along with the Tbird crank and rods. Speed Pro pistons, "moderate" size solid flat tappet cam, a factory Ford dual plane "Sidewinder" intake with a Holley 780 vac sec carb. The heads are basically stock cast iron 428CJ`s (C8OE-N`s) with factory valves (2.09"I, 1.66"E) with 74cc chambers. I`ve never had the heads on a flow bench, or measured the runner volumes, so I don`t have that information. I shift it at 6200 RPM.I hope that helps.

Rory I'm suprised you didn't direct him to the FE Forum. I'm sure he will get all the answers
"and then some" from the characters on that site.
