Default 60 ft. Question

1988 mustang 2900 lbs w/driver c4 tranny,5400 8 inch conveter 28x10.5
mt slick stock style suspension 4.56 gear aftermarket control arm and tubular k member.
Car ran 10.29 @132.12 with 1.49 60 footbraking.
349ci smblk ford apox. 525 hp.
Just wondering if the 60 ft can be improved and maybe a number I should be working toward.
Thanks.

you can set up a car to many different things---60 foot---- 1/8th ---1/4---ET--MPH what ever --- just cuz ya have a tremendous 60 foot time doesnt mean that the 1/4 is going to be fantastic too---now if the exact same or similiarly classed car car had a 1.39 vs. your 1.49 and the same 1/4 ET/MPH then you need to pick up your 60 a bit cuz a rule of thumb is for every .01 of 60 double it at the other end and take that time off your 1/4 mile ET and that's what your corrected ET should be--- for example 1.49 =60 and the 1/4 ET is 10.20 so if you could pick it up to say a 1.45=60 your 1/4 et should be .03x2+.06 new ET should be 10.14--- not carved in stone too many variables to consider but I hope this will give ya an idea

Aa Greg says Low gear in the C4 2.92 or 2.75 is the common low gear sets for these. If you are at a stock ratio you can inprove a bunch. My Fox body mustang stoker is simular in wieght and rear gear mine is 4.88 and I run the 2.92 first gear in the c4 has had the best 60' of 1.52 et are 11.97. Do you use a 2 step also?

Any nitrous? Mine is a stock c4, 4.10 gear, 3120 lbs. with me, no nitrous. Usually 1.50 - 1.52 with 2 step at Bandimere runs 11.20's. San Antonio Nitro Jam last spring consistant 1.42's no 2 step. Footbraking at about 2000 rpm and stab the throttle. Ran high 10.50's -60's. Best 60' Saurday morning 1.405. Lots of fun.
