This is interesting as Comp lifters run small any time I have seen those lifters I have had to bush the lifter bores back.

I have to ask why a .900 B/C cam and what is the build ?

Running reduced base circle cams adds alot of pressure angle which is a killer for lifters.

The car and engine below............why a .900 base circle? IIRC I measured with a caliper and if its not a .900 base its close. You'll have to ask Cam Motion that question.........I had it custom ground and thats what I got. I did say I FINALLY got oil out of the pushrods................I hear what you're saying on the lifter O.D. I think I'm fine .The engine is a 355 23 deg. Brodix head 14:1 .

First of all very nice car you have. If you only have a 3.480 or 3.500 stroke there was no need for a .900 base circle cam, Those small base circle cams some times tend to flex with alot of spring pressure and lifters don't like that and the lifters hanging out of the bottom of the bore which is alot of pressure angle is not a good thing.

I think clearance wise you may have a little to much if anything.

I guess roll the dice those lifters will let you know if they are not happy.

What year are your cars ??

I use aluminum rod in high end blower builds. NA engines I don't see any sense.

They eat up to much cam to rod clearance and cycle time is real short compared to a good steel rod.

Different strokes for diff. folks I guess. 8800-9000 rpm.
I tend to not do what everyone else does.Thats why I don't bracket race and use a Nash 5 speed. And @3000lbs driver on board 9.30s to 40s nobody ever said I was slow.

I guess so thats why I check lifter bore clearance and you don't. LOL

I would of used an Iron Eagle block rather then compromise cam to rod clearance and have to run a cam that looks like a pencil LOL. Or at least would have gone to a .904 lifter with a .810 wheel to reduce pressure angle.

It should be fun to drive !!!

Very nice cars though.

This article will help explain what you have going on.
