Come on over and pick on Grump if you need to....
If this was a comp car it would make sense for a crew member to pick up and deliver time slip. This is stock eliminator, Nobody does that. There’s no need for crew members to be with the car before it gets to the scales unless the car is broke and everyone is in agreement that the car was able to drive to the scales.

The time slip booth at Woodburn is near the tower/starting line. It’s very common for crew members to grab the time slip and drive down to the return road so the driver can review the time slip while waiting to scale/fuel check. So, yes, lots of people do this.

Julie,

I believe you receive timeslip before scale at Woodburn now.
Simple question there's 39 cars or whatever did any Super Street cars weigh before Cody?
I'm not an expert not even sure Super Street weighs but typically we are lined up at scale when running at end of session,
not sure why or how someone could cut in if you were there doing your normal routine.

From my understanding from those there, the timeslip booth has been moved past the finish line by the scales.

Also, I can tell you, I talked to Cody Lane myself earlier today and he basically stated the same as Jeff has here. Yes, I actually picked up the phone and called the person in question, rather than communicate over Internet. Full disclosure, he messaged me if I wanted to know with a phone number and I called. I think Cody is a little younger than I am and I’m 29, and somehow we communicated like adults, crazy deal happened earlier today.

Now, I haven’t heard from the NHRA side fully, but I’ve put in a few texts and calls that way as well. I’d suggest if you have questions, you can do the same.

Austin, do you really think if you asked someone who cheated, “hey man, what happened”? He’s actually going to say “yeah man, I knew I went 1.20 under and had to chuck some weight out before the scales to get the run dq’d so I don’t get instant horsepower on my combo!” Come on man!!!

I'm just saying, I heard one of the sides of the story. I have also heard from people at the track.

Now, I haven't heard from NHRA fully but I plan to, not sure if anyone else does.

Also, just from a logistic standpoint, it would take me a decent amount of time to figure out how to get weight out of the car as it is in weight boxes. So, if there was foul play it would have had to take a noticeable amount of time at the end of the track...or unless there was "loose weight" in the car. Should we go ahead and start that rumor/conspiracy as well?

I think there are going to be three sides to this one regardless how it plays out: the Lanes, the competitors and the truth. Two of those could wind up being the same.
