Re: Been Lurking, now ready to ask.
Hey guys,
In our P.M.'s I'm sorry I didn't just come out & tell you it was a 1.50 under combination. (don't worry it is not)I just tried to give you the good points & bad points of the combo as I saw it. I also tried to give you a couple of guys names that were listed in Joe's Stats that ran that 402 engine. There have been very few & I don't think it has been worked completely out. If I remember most of them were mid pack of the classes & and from .75 to 1.00 under. I did say I thought it was slightly underrated. I also tried to say there are more engine combos that are available for that car & a couple of them look good too. In this thread We have had Tony Curcio, who ran the combo, give his blessings. I don't know anything about the specific car your looking at & it's past performance. If you want to see what it really ran in Div 4 take the guys name (number helps too) that ran it & do an advanced search on Drag Race Central. You can pull up all the final qualifying & rounds of each race. I also told you I had been looking at it for a SS/GT combo for my Camaro, not a stocker. I think it is more underrated as a SS combo. Remember I pointed out the pancake intake & small cam were a couple of bad points as a stocker. They will get improved in SS. I personally like those cars & have have always enjoyed watching wagons race. I have always thought it is better to buy a built car rather than build one from scratch. I need to re read what I wright & live by it... looks like I'm the hipocrit because I'm building a 69 Vette for A/SA from scratch. My gut says if it's what you want, it's priced right & it's a legal car. Go for it.. The fun factor could be great.
