350 chevy bore size?

I am going to have my block bored, it's standard now, and wondered how much et I will sacrifice if I go .030 instead of .060. Anyone race a stocker with the .030 block then later punch out to .060? Was there a substantial gain? I don't know if there is much power in 5 extra cubic inches. Block could be used so much longer this way. Thanks in advance for any info provided.

On the great big assumption that going bigger doesn't compromise ring seal,
and if your building a Stocker that should be able to make at least 1.25 HP per CID, then you have to ask yourself is 6.25 HP worth anything to you?
Someday that extra .05- in ET may come in handy.

& think if you offset grind the crank even more inches

Then you will need more than 1.25 hp/ci to compete. Mebbe something closer to 1.80 hp/ci.

Oh...then while your at it...I would go .030" over and have microscopic EDM holes lazer applied to the cylinder walls with NOS lines flowing to these holes.
Not sure how you would plumb around the water jackets but anything is possible!

You will not sacrifice any power; you will have a gain in power. Also running a larger bore helps unshroud the valves in relation to the cylinder.

I run a low compression 350 and I can tell you that ever cubic inches is worth about 1 hp
or better and all my engines are 60 over plus So the more inches the better (that is from a pro engine shop)

Jesse if its a stock block i would stay at 030 ,if you have a bow tie then 060 the st blk will likley make more power at 030 due to cly walls are not thick enough. Jim Hanig my 2 cents
