Default Re: Which weather data to monitor?

I just started to use the Kestrel 4250, so I'm not quite up to speed yet, but the idea is to collect as much data as possible ( temperature, humidity, altitude density and so forth) to establish a pattern of how your car reacts to changes in the weather and it's effect on performance. Once that information is obtained, you can track changes. Kestrel also offers a data logger to connect the 4250 to a computer to build the Excel spreadsheet that Alan mentioned, too!

Now to find a good ET prediction software package!!

Hopefully Larry Meaux over at Max Race Software will have his program finished soon. Larry's software is outstanding.

There are a few books and articles you can read to learn more. I think the Dragster had a couple of David Reher articles, somewhere there is some stuff written by Jere Stahl. You've got a great weather station, I'll be getting one of them soon.

The best book on the subject is Patrick Hale's book titled: "Motorsports Standard Atmosphere and Weather Correction Methods".
