The evaporation rate is what causes the carb to be riched or leaned. You can look up the spec's of the fuels on the net.
I spoke to the Sunoco people at the PRI show in Orlando, and they told me that the gas can be stored for up to 2 years and it will still pass as long as it's in the correct container.

Good point Casey! I`ve never had a problem with Sunoco Purple passing fuel check, even after sitting in the tank all winter long. Some others fail after a couple of weeks. That`s where the cost gets really high! Lane

Jeff,
What Downs fuels in Riverside sells Sunoco? I just got off the phone with their office in Corona and they tell me they don't have a station in Riverside and they don't sell Sunoco anywhere.
I've been buying from Downs for years and complained bitterly when they dropped Sunoco and switched to VP. I'll switch back in a heartbeat if I can.

I got the VP C11 there. How about Merrit Oil in Bloomington for the Sunoco?

Sunoco Purple vs C-11--------We backed to backed with our cars at the track and found absolutely no difference except price and availability. I carry a 30gal drum in my trailer which usually is plenty when I'm on a trip. Fuel check never a problem.

Greg, Not to hijack the thred but was this seen with just a fuel swap? any other variables
or do you think that just the fuel alone made it a rich mixture if you dont mind me asking...
Thanks
