I prefer the aluminum versions. They would seem to be much more durable than plastic and I've seen several older plastic ones that had deformed. Summit has some aluminum 4 & 5 gallon sizes that may be worth considering. I have an aluminum 10 gal. now but will eventually go to a 5 gal.

I have a Summit 5 gal aluminum cell that I put in about 5 yrs ago when they made the change to allow cells in stockers. I had a MAJOR issue with the Summit cell. Whatever sealant was used between the filler and the tank was crap. It was not properly resistant to gasoline and began disintegrating. My tank was full of chunks of sealant which caused continual problems with pumps and filters. It would clog an in-line Earl's filter in one run. That was a long time ago and hopefully Summit has corrected the problem, but it is something to watch out for.

Can you legally take the foam out of the cell?? Most of our problems seem to stem from the foam degrading and getting into everything!
