Default Flywheels has little bit of glaze from clutch disc went bad

Had a clutch disc go bad it made some glaze on the flywheel nothing bad. Would it be alright to use some sand paper to knock it off? orbital sander?

Also with a diaphram set up how much clearance between the throw-out bearing and fingers? 1/4?
