Liberty, G-force or Jerico?

I have Jerico DR4`s in both my cars, a 5.0 Mustang Stocker, and a 428FE Fairmont bracket car, and I have been really happy with them. The trans in the Fairmont has been in for 10 years, running 10.0`s @132, best 60 foot of 1.29, and a broken 3rd gear last year was the first repair required in all that time ($300.00 to repair.)
I don`t know where you seen the prices for a 4 speed and 5 speed being the same cost however, A 5 speed Jerico is almost 3 times the price of a DR4. In my Mustang, I could legally use either a 4 or 5 speed trans, but finances dictated a 4 speed. It would be interesting to see how much (if any) quicker the extra gear would produce.
I don`t know if they still have the special at G Force, but a couple of local racers recently purchased G Force 4 speeds (looks like a T-10 on steroids), complete with shifters, for only $2500. These are rebuilt, used transmissions, so gear ratio selection may be limited, but you would have to call to find out what is available. The nice thing about these Jerico ,G Force and Liberty transmisions is they hold their value really well. I bought both my Jericos used, and I could likely sell them for close to what I paid for them. Try THAT with a used automatic!
