I decided I want a six...I just can't stop thinking about a six. I know it doesn't make the best sense to some, but it excites me to try it. I even have a local sponsor who would kick in more if I did the six, because "it's not that boring bellybutton crap".
It appears there are only 2-3 200 Fords out there, so this looks like exciting unchartered territory...IF the Fairmont would truly be a V-car. It may be nuts, but it also may be a chance for greatness. Plus that car benefits from Fox-body goodies and I already have a Fox-body 8.8 rear axle. I talked to the guy with the Aspens, might be able to scoop up a couple of them very cheaply, and the wrecking yard here has slant sixes and F-bodies abound. I could go GM, but no one has a decent pre-70 GM that I could stuff a 230 into. I'm still in planning, but for sure it will be a six; it seems like there's alot of parity as well as a decent amount of cars running V, so someday I would have a shot at some heads-up action. That would be awesome. The Rambler needs floorpans for sure, so I will put it on the backburner. Maybe the six becomes the stepping stone into a higher class V8 car... Thanks again for everyone's help. I never realized there was this much thought and science into this...I think I was up all last night researching various things, and I was digging around my cars in the snow all afternoon! |
