In 69 or 70, I bought a 57 Bel Air 2 door htp with a set of traction bars like that.
The mounts were welded to the axle and rear frame rails.
Square tube steel on bushings / bolts and washers hanging from mount to mount.
Noisy and rattling but when you dump the clutch, it pulled the rearend of the car down for weight transfer.
Guess they outlawed them for some reason.

Jimi That setup is different
I believe the leaf link was developed by the boys involved with the Motown Missile P/S projects. I think the first one was installed in the 70 Challenger.
If I remember the design correctly, basically the front spring segment was clamped together solid, & everything behind the axle was left unclamped. The clamps make the front of the springs a "solid lower link". There was a housing floater (so the housing floats on the spring) and a top link from a "four link" for location.

Billy 'Billy the Kid' Stepp (Dayton, Ohio).............One of his 'two' 'SS/B' BO29 cars.




Herb McCandless drove this 1968 BO29 'A/MP' car to the 1970 Gatornationals Modified Production Championship.



Later, in 1971 the other BO29 was classed in B/MP

The Canned Heat Dart was Lou Biggs of southern IL - not a real car but raced AHRA for a number of years - this is the first color pic I have seen of the car - I have a B&W one with a different paint scheme.

I finally found the January 2004 Mopar Collector's Guide that featured a story about a street racer who totalled out one of Max Hurley's original Hurst Hemi Darts.
