I think I disagree on 2 of 3:
Flywheel shield is required at 9.99, not 10.99. Trans shield/blanket is required at 10.99 and for S/ST. So a flywheel shield is only required if you go 135. Only if the car is "required by the rules" to have a cage is a window net required. If it goes under 135 and has a stock firewall and floor pan, you can have a cage without a net. If not, then yes a cage (and therefore net) is required at 10.99 and for S/ST. It's a good idea to have the more equipment, the better. And on your first trip thru NHRA tech, no guarantee you won't get an inspector who doesn't know the nuances and says "I am the rulebook!" and gives you trouble. You don't want to have that argument, even if you win on Monday, you lose on that weekend. |
