Any idea what size the Autolite 2 bbl carb was, and weather it's anywhere close to big enough for stock eliminator? Nhra specs are DO-OF-L auto?

Is that the 1.23 Venturi? rated 351cfm? Doesn't the guide list the 351W there with 1.73 rockers? Not correct I think. Had asked Mr Lunati many years ago at Indy about a cam for a 71 351C 2V and he said something along the lines of "kid, you can't pass enough air thru the carb to run the index."

Tim,
I'm currently assembling a 72 240hp 351c for my cougar. My engine is required to have .407 lift @ the valve & the 1.21 carb. The 70 uses a bigger cam and the 1.23 carb. Also, a 351W & 351C are both rated @ 250hp in 70. I have it on good info, from someone who ran this before, that my combo is quite capable of running the index. ![]()
