Anyone have good or bad thoughts or experiences on hydraulic TOB's in a clutchless SS car. I have used one in Lenco/bracket application but don't know of any in SS. Sure would be nice to not have all that linkage. With only needing it on the launch I don't see a problem. I think a positive stop would allow for a constant air gap setting.

The reason for that is that in Stock, certain individuals used a mechanism equivalent to a large Line Loc in the line between the clutch master cylinder and the throw out bearing, then a release button somewhere. Mashing down the clutch with the line loc closed held the clutch down even with no pedal pressure, and releasing it with the switch at the desired instant of launch. Since trans brakes are illegal in stock, why would this setup be any different? I agree that hydraulics would be far easier to install and engineer than mechanical linkage, but it's hard to get around the limitations of a mechanical clutch linkage that would prevent it from being anything but foot activated.

Don't waste your time with the hydraulic linkage, unless an inconsistant reaction time is somethig you are not worried about! Hotter the fluid temp the R/T is faster, colder the fluid temp the R/T is slower. I believe the button boys found this out with the miracle AX delay box, I mean button having to keep it the same temp as possible every run to be consistant.
I have a hard enough time having a consistant R/T without having the car throw another variable at me for the R/T. Take the time to build a good linkage and you will not regret it!

What are the stick '93/'02 GM F body cars using? They came hydraulic, but a lot of guys have trouble with that on modified street cars.
