What is the difference between a 520 head and a 520 T head.Is it worth finding a 520 T head if I have a set of 520 heads?

Depends on what you have. As a general rule, the later heads are better than the early heads. But the T is not necessary. It's just that the T heads are all late production heads.

To answer your question seriously, if the heads are to be , shall we say chemically enhanced....then you will be fine with either head or even an 896 casting.
