New combination 406.
Car drops 700 rpm when going from neutral to first gear and will eventually die. It gets worse when the car is at operating temp. Ignition? Please Help. |

Sounds a lot more like carburetor than ignition. Quickest way to find out is to swap another on it. Also, check the power valve(s) if so equipped.

either lock out the distributor or recurve it so it has ~ 20 degrees initial and 16-18 degrees mechanical advance. Easy to do with an MSD distributor.

Also very hard to start at operating temp!
Little M Block 14:1 cam @ 50 278 intake 290 exhaust 111 lobe separation AFR 210's 5800 stall 750 carb that flows 920. |

way too big cam and not enough stall but that's not your question.

how's the carb setup/baselined...how/where are the floats set, same question for transfer slots? What is the idle set at? Also how much fuel pressure?
