Default Clutch disc

I have rung the spines out of a clutch hub this week. After careful inspection, I have discovered that the disc I bought form Bonninfante has splines that are approx .300 long in the hub. I picked up a disc from Ram and measured the splines in their hub to be approx .420 long. I would like to just replace the hub on the disc without buying a new disc. The flywheel and PP show very little wear. Would like to swap hub for the thicker Ram piece.
Anyone try to mix hubs on discs?

If it fits, wear it.

I did the same 10 years ago, sent both pieces to Ram, they switched hubs , not a big deal, thinking it was fairly inexpensive. but Tim Hyatt may be quicker and cheaper.
