Does anybody have the actual weight difference between the weights of 4th gen Trans Am & Firebird rear hatch? I need to move more weight to the front of mine now.

I can weigh one of my firebird ones and check it if you want to take your TA hatch off and weight it to find the difference. I dont have any trans am ones. You just need to tell me how you want it weighed. IE completly stripped down with only glass, exactly as it comes from the factory with plastic and wireing harness ect.

Thanks Rob! I was hoping I could find out without pulling mine. I'm lazy. I have flat run out of ways to keep it down without adding weight. I hate to take the weight box out in case I need to move some back for a greasy track. I got way more than I expected from back-halving my car. No longer have to sweat slick tracks. I can put a lot of bite back in.
Sure a new deal for me. Eastexas Race Cars really knows their stuff. I highly recommend them to anybody needing chassis work. Just wish I had my head on straight at Houston, I probably wouldn't have broken anything. Hope it's another 30 years before my next one. I would be 98, won't be an issue then. LOL

I used to own a '94 T/A 25th Anniversary model. I heard from several sources that big wing will kill a MPH or more.
Just another thing to consider...

Jeff, I heard about a half. Now, since Eastexas Race Cars back-halved it, the darn thing needs weight up front. I left it on before because with small tires I felt like it needed it back there. Now I need to calm it down. First big tire car I've ever been in. I had no idea!

Ed, have you thought about a lexan rear window? That would shed 28lbs right there and allow you to add some ballast back wherever you wanted.
VFN makes a light fiberglass rear hatch for $246 that weighs 8lbs. It's here: http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/932001camaro.htm Jerry Bickel makes a lexan rear window for $350: http://www.jerrybickel.com/windows-a...-firebird.html |

I don't think we can have Lexan windows.
