First time out last night and it's stumbled bad out of the gate. I did nothing to it since last year. So I know the secondary air flap is set right. Did this all 3 time trials. Could the accelerater pump have gone bad over the winter? even at 50 mph it will stumble when I mash it.

If your Q-Jet was dry over the winter and has a black pump cup, then yes , this could be your problem. You should replace it with one that has a blue cup such as the Edelbrock #1982. Danny

You can also check the adaquacy of both primary shots from the accelerator pump as you manual move the throttle to confirm if the circuit is working or not.

Overlooked a real simple thing right in front of my eyes. The little curved"S" shaped hose that goes from the vacuum port on the carb to the pull off was disconected. The way it was resting it looked like it was still on. Hooked it back up and no more stumble. Thanks for all the help anyway. the way it was acting I would have bet anything it was the acc. pump
