It will look like new with all of the rust removed from every nook and crannie. The fermentation process that takes place causes the solution to react with iron oxide (rust) and not with iron. The solution is good for about 3 to 4 months.
The negative side of this process is the odor. After a week or two it can really begin to smell, so keep it covered.
You can buy molasses at a farmers feed store or on the internet.
