Welding tips and bracing of axle tubes for factory 12 bolt h
Hey Guys,
I am looking for welding tips and bracing of axle tubes for factory 12 bolt housing - where tubes join the pumpkin and as fully assembled or Probably has to be completely disassembled? Thanks, Craig |
Re: Welding tips and bracing of axle tubes for factory 12 bo
Find a good welder and have the tubes welded to the center section all the way around. Bracing can be accomplished with a LPW cover with the bracing option.

What successes or limits have others had with a Tubes Welded Ladder bar 12 bolt = limits of factory Tubes strength?
Thanks, Craig |
Re: Welding tips and bracing of axle tubes for factory 12 bo
Unless you're not putting a lot of power through this 12 bolt, I wouldn't use a stock housing. This is from my own personal experience. The axle tubes won't handle lots of power.

Thank you - I will probably get the welding of the tubes and the LWP cover with the brace.

Keep an eye on pinion angel if it changes the tubes are twisting.

Re: Welding tips and bracing of axle tubes for factory 12 bo
Tubes that are welded to the center section shouldn't twist BUT the stock tubes will tear either at the weld or at the spring mounting point.

Go aftermarket, thicker casting and tubes, weld them all the way around and brace it like I did and you'll never worry about it again.
