8.8 ford ring and pinion cryogenic treatment
 
i need a new gear in a 8.8 rear end. thinking about going the cryogenic route. is it and the rem finish worth anything for longevity? thanks ron b

Absolutely moves the grain structure in the metal making stronger and less prone to fatigue. Call Wanye @ Indy Gear he can help you out.

i would like to find a place that does both the cyro and rem finishing.

Is the cryo treatment the same as the old way of dropping the gears in dry ice solution for 24 hours?

you would need to do it in liquid nitrogen

Dry ice is frozen co2 that’s cold

Liquid nitrogen (-320*F) is far colder than dry ice (-109*F)
